International Development Cooperation and Trade

Class information: 14:00-16:45 on Fridays

International Studies Hall #332

  1. Course Description

The course covers different topics about Aid for Trade (AfT). The course consists of lectures of invited internal or external scholars and practitioners who are experts in the given topic of the week. The course aims to promote students’ understanding on theory of economic development, strategies for poverty eradication, and role of AfT for poverty eradication.

The course is funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA), and selected 3 students will receive financial support from KOICA to visit a developing country. These 3 students will be selected based on their academic performance in this course. It is important to note that although international students, who do not hold Korean citizenship, are able to take this course, they are not able to participate in international field trip as financial support from KOICA is only offered for Korean students.

Attendance is mandatory at the lectures, and the students’ participation will be evaluated based on their contribution to class discussion. The students will be divided into groups of 3 students, and each group has to make a presentation and create User Created Context (UCC). Topics for presentation and UCC will be announced later in the class.
